At Cosmetic Choice we use dermal fillers containing hyaluronic acid. We only use FDA approved dermal fillers. The Juvederm® range of dermal fillers contains an anaesthetic to reduce discomfort and it produces a smoother, longer lasting effect than other products.
Dermal Filler is a gel-like substance formed by cross-linking Hyaluronic acid molecules. Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule that exists naturally in the human skin. Hyaluronic acid filler is the most popular and safest type of filler.
Over time we lose our natural hyaluronic acid, and the skin can then lose its shape and volume. The hyaluronic acid in dermal fillers absorbs moisture to add instant volume to shape and in addition stimulates collagen beneath the skin improving volume to area. Dermal fillers help to combat the static lines, smooth out wrinkles, fill deep lines or add volume and definition to an area.
Dermal fillers can be used in a number of different areas to help re-shape, define and add volume. Some of the most popular areas include nose to mouth lines, mouth to chin lines, corners of the mouth, the border and body of lips, tear trough rejuvenation, smokers lines, and the cheeks.
Using a very fine needle, the product is injected directly beneath the line of the wrinkle or fold to fill the depression in the skin.
Juvederm® has been used for many years showing fantastic and safe results. The Juvederm® range of products already contains an anaesthetic known as lidocaine. In addition local anaesthetic cream will be applied prior to the injections to ensure that the procedure is comfortable.
Occasional side-effects include temporary redness, tenderness, swelling and bruising at the injection sites. If this does occur it will improve over 2-3 days. Some people can feel slight lumps after the treatment which usually resolves with massage. Dermal filler can be dissolved if necessary.
You should see the effect of the filler immediately.
Avoid makeup for 12 hours. Avoid steam, saunas, sunbeds for 2 weeks.
Fillers last from 6-18 months
