HYPERHIDROSIS

Hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis is treated using Botox. Botox is not only used for cosmetic reasons but for a wide range of other medical treatments. An important medical use for Botox is for excessive sweating, also known as Hyperhidrosis. It may affect various areas of the body, with most common areas affected being the armpits. The condition can cause anxiety and a lack of self-confidence. It is a common condition affecting 1-2% of the population and many people suffer in silence as they are not aware that anything can be done about it.

Commonly hyperhidrosis can be made worse by stress, anxiety, changes in hormones and ambient temperature. You can expect anything between a 70% to 90% improvement in your symptoms if you undergo successive treatments.

How does Hyperhidrosis treatment work?

We only use pharmaceutical grade products

The treatment works by injecting Botulinum toxin type A subcutaneously into the skin to suppress the apocrine glands, which produce sweat. The treatment is most commonly used to tackle excessive underarm sweating. The areas are previously prepared with numbing cream to minimise discomfort. Post-procedure side effects may include, slight swelling, soreness, and bruising.
